I love Saturday mornings! Staying in bed longer, taking it slow, making a nice breakfast and actually eating it at the table without being rushed. This Saturday I woke up earlier than everyone else so I decided to make a breakfast smoothie for myself!
I love smoothies, it is so easy to play around with the flavor combinations and make something new of them each time. They are great on the go and also provide a filling and nutritious meal. I barely get smoothies when I am out, just because I don’t really trust how much added sugar will end up in my cup but I can never go wrong with some home made deliciousness.
My two new favorite things are the Sambazon acai berry packets and the MATCHAlove macha powder. I put them into most of my smoothies and just vary other ingredients around them.
Acai berries are low in sugar and contain a large amount of antioxidants, iron, calcium, and Vitamin A. They are good for weight loss, helping digestion and promoting skin health. They will boost your immune system, energy level and brain function. So load up on acai! 🙂
Matcha Green Tea powder is also great for boosting your immune system, memory and brain work, detoxifying your body, and increasing your energy level. It has a very unique taste that I had to get used to at first, but now I can’t get enough of it.
1/4 CUP CHIA SEED
1 POUCH ACAI BERRY
1 CUP MIXED BERRIES
1 CUP GRANOLA
1 TSP MATCHA GREEN TEA
1 TSP CINNAMON
1 TBSP HONEY
2 CUPS UNSWEETENED ALMOND MILK
Enjoy it for breakfast, after a workout or on the go! 🙂
