I love you, Mom!

Hi Everyone,

Today is the first Sunday of May, which means it is Mother’s Day in Hungary. It is not easy from 9,000 km away to shower my Mom with as much love as she really deserves, but I will try my best.

She is the best and greatest role model in my life and I would be nowhere without her. As she is very artistic and a great drawer, I decided to draw up a page with all the things I love about her in my bullet journal. I am very new to journaling and have not been gifted with as much talent as she is but I made it with love <3 Put Echo in the background because she loves him so sprinkling a little cuteness won’t hurt either. 🙂

Living far away from home is not easy in many ways, but one of the hardest parts about it is that I don’t get to see, kiss and hug my mom or that I am not able to share everything with her in a way we used to. It would be nice to meet up with her more often, go take a walk together, cook or bake something, go to the theater or just hang out. I wish I could surprise her today and just show up at home, but since I can’t make that happen unfortunately, let me share some things I love about her or activities I love doing with her.

Lessons I Learned From My Mom

  • Love unconditionally
  • Importance of communicating
  • How to stay strong
  • Being respectful and kind to others
  • Love of cooking and baking
  • Love of animals and nature
  • Love of travel
  • How to work hard
  • How to love and appreciate the little things and quiet moments
  • How to laugh worry-free until your tummy hurts

Also, as I was making the drawing, after I was halfway through, I realized I made a typo. I wrote “Tings I love about my Mom”. I tried to force and extra “h” between the “t” and the “i” and I think I did pretty solid but then my husband stopped by the desk and said: “You know what your mom would do if that happened to her, right?” So I looked at him quietly as I turned my journal’s page to a new and clear page and started over.

(See? It turned out pretty well actually 😀 😀 but my husband was right…I had to start over)
